Can someone please explain to me what happens at the point the branch is notified that a DA'd or DF'd person is deceased? Is that a prompt for them to destroy your personal file? -

One year of being free
by Israel Ricky Gonzales inone year ago, this thursday, i went to work as usual.
i got home, ate dinner, got myself dressed for the meeting, and helped my kids get ready like i usually did.. my son had a talk that evening, his second one.
many of my family went to support him.

IRG: My youngest daughter's 15th birthday on the 26th. My parents for the first time ever will be joining us for our evening meal. My love for my parents has deepened as has my respect for their courage, tenacity and trust in each other. I turned worldly being born in - they, mid 60s have learned TTATT. You are lucky that you will never carry the heart burden of my parents. Enjoy your children and your grandchildren when you get there. Much love to you. MJB. -

Great advice. Welcome. You are among those fortunate enough to have figured this out at an early age. Agree that you should keep reading and discovering for yourself all the while maintaining your respectful attitude to your mum - no matter what. -

So true. For me maybe apathy. Because I was born in and my parents made those decisions that I didn't need to question? I have racked my brains as to where I was when the blood and generation flip flops came in and you know what? I think all I ever heard at meetings was white noise because I have no conscious recollection of any of it. No funny looks between peers, no hearing post match discussion - no reading this in WT and saying "hang on". For this reason I do feel dumb. I get it.
At +60, my parents, after all of their lives in this cult, having just discovered TTATT, my question to them was how could you have been deceived for so long? They are both intelligent people!? They had a range of responses that totally summed it up. The hardest thing for them is reconciliation with their foolishness for so long. It's not a cult for nothing!!

It is merely a reflection of that which you put out. -

My comment was not solely related to this thread, nor solely to you, PHISHERPERSON, although I can see how you got that. I wish you peace at heart. Again, I would like to thank you all for your comments as I find them all very helpful in my understanding. -

To DA or not to DA, that is the question?
by dubstepped inlet me preface this by saying that i don't expect anyone here to make my decision for me.
i do however note that like the bible says, in the multitude of counselors there is wisdom, and this is a huge decision, so i wanted to put it out there for discussion.
i really appreciate your words of wisdom, as this affects not just me but my wife also, as we find ourselves in the same boat.

I have been out 12 years and have only just contemplated sending in a DA letter. I have nothing to lose - my 'friends' have been absent all these years, I moved towns and critically, my parents have just awoken. However, I feel that a letter of DA will not have the effect I romanticize it would and for that reason, I decided that the fade would allow long lost friends (if ever I was to see them again) to ask me if I was still in and would give me a better opportunity for a "witness." If I was DA'd that would shut the door entirely. -

I am pleased Morpheus posted this because you FISHERPERSON were calling into question his credibility when commenting on other threads that I have read with interest.
The defensive positioning is really quite stark. I like reading the balanced and objective posts as they help me to think on matters critically. You FISHERPERSON are helping me with that.
Thank you all for sharing. The Bethel service clearly has a whole other 'language' that most like me would not otherwise understand.
